Best place to live???

Question

I know this is random and has nothing to do with babies but my husband and I are trying to find a house but don't know where to look! We wanna know the pros and cons of living in WV, VA, NC, and FL if any of you live in these areas can let me know your opinions I'd appreciate it so much!

In my opinion I think it's good to go on google and search best states/cities to live in. So you get more information. Secondly think about stuff you enjoy like weather and what kind of activities your interested in and go from there get a list together and look up places and compare house living prices etc. I'm on the process of moving to a new state something completely different but I'm giving it a try in hopes for a new change and to try new things. My husband and i are from Maine. We lived in North Carolina for 5 years and I lived in Florida for a year back in high school. We plan to move back to North Carolina next year when my husband gets out of the Marine Corps. It’s such a gorgeous, laid back area and everyone is so nice! You get the beautiful seasons as well and if you live by the coast then you can bypass the snow which I love haha can’t stand snow. 
I also loved Florida but it lacks in seasons and hurricanes are more common there as well. Plus it’s very busy and crowded in some areas too.  Depending on where you live. 
I also love Virginia and wouldn’t mind living there. But North Carolina has our hearts lol

Check into laws and think long term. We are in NY state right now, fighting to live on one income because taxes are stupid high, and we want me home with babies. We are also starting to look at homeschooling and seriously considering a move to a more friendly state. Not looking forward to spending as much time on documenting our school time as schooling, kinda seems silly when I just want to teach my kid! Never crossed our minds when we moved here from MO before kids!

I have family in Florida. It's beautiful there but they say it's like living in a permanent vacation spot. You have young people during the summer and older people during​ the winter.
