Anyone have a D&C after vaginal birth?

Hi ladies! Hoping for some insight. I’m 10 days post partum and apparently my bleeding is abnormal. I’m being scheduled for a D&C; later this week to stop the bleeding. I’m nursing, so I have lots of questions! I’m sure my doctor will answer these, but I’m interested in others’ experiences. Did you go under general? Need pain meds after? When can I nurse my baby again?
Any insights appreciated!!

I had a D&C; for a miscarriage but I can tell you that I was under general anesthesia. You’ll likely have to take it easy after to facilitate healing - that means a lot of couch time so you’ll have to have someone else do the cleaning etc. I was given what is basically a giant Tylenol after. It helped with discomfort but it wasn’t anything unbearable that I felt was 100% necessary if i couldn’t take it for whatever reason. 
I’m not sure what general anesthesia does to breast milk. But moms nurse not long after emergency c sections so I’m sure the wait isn’t terrible. Maybe if possible pump a bit so you have some breast milk stored in case your doctor advises you to wait or you just don’t feel up to it?

I had one after a miscarriage and I was put to sleep. I didn’t have much pain after some backache but ibuprofen helped. But nothing unbearable. I’m sure you will,  but I’d definitely ask about what medications you can take if you’re nursing and if you can nurse after you’ve had Anesthesia

I had one after a miscarriage.. I wasn't put under just given pain medication to manage the pain. The procedure is a little blurry but I Remember some cramping. It was comfortable, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I was back to work in three days. I took some pain medicine that day and didn't need them again.  Although my body took forever to get back on track,but part was my fault by trying birth control that my body can not tolerate.

I had a D&C; for a miscarriage.  I was put under for it. The recovery for me was horrible,  because I got an infection in my uterus from it.
