Iud removal

I'm getting my iud out in 20 days due to a period more days of the month than not, or if I have sex more than once a week I usually bleed as a new full period. I've already tried getting it out an a normal clinic but ha yea they couldn't take it out. I let the clinic that put it in know I've tried having it removed and it didn't work but it's still in place. They told me they have a machine to do it and now I'm more scared than I was to begin with. Any experiences with removal of the mirena would be really appreciated. Good/bad open to anything that could help mentally or physically prepare me for my removal!
