Spinal block for c-section... Terrified.
Okay so this is baby #2. I will be having a cesarean with this baby like I did with my first... I'm scared out of my mind... This is something that honestly keeps me awake at night... But here's the deal. Basically, I had the WORST experience with the spinal block with my first. I was told it was gonna be a "pinch and some pressure"... They lied... Ooooh how they LIED. It was the most excruciating pain I have ever endured... I honestly thought that the c-section healing process and the contractions I had before having to deliver via cesarean was cake in comparison!!! They had to try to get the needle in FIVE TIMES... And each time hurt just as much...
The biggest issue is that I'm larger... The anesthesiologist couldn't see nor feel my spine. I'm even larger than I was the first pregnancy, so the issue will still stand.
Has anyone else had a bad experience with the spinal block or epidural going in? I know they're both different anaesthetics but they're administered the same way.
I tried asking my obgyn if there's anything I can do before delivering to better prep me or the anesthesiologist... And she said "not really other than voicing your concerns with the anesthesiologist"... Which didn't make me feel any better.
Just wondering if I'm alone in dealing with something like this.
