Considering your partner doesn't like to talk about the past, why would he want to know this? If you just volunteer that information to him, especially knowing he doesn't want to hear about it, you're just asking for an argument &/or for him to be less likely to want to talk to you about this & other things...

Just last night I tried asking about his ex wife and he went ape crazy on my ass he doesn't like to talk about his past and I tried telling him of my ex husband and he acted like if he doesn't care
