With a recovering addict

The love of my life has a past of addiction, who has conquered the demon and lives a sober, happy, healthy life. We have been together for a little over a year, but known each other for 15 + years.

They say when you know, you know & we know! Life is so beautiful together.

He treats me like I've only dreamed about, and has a heart that could blow you away.

We are not married yet, but plan to be very soon.

However, we are both anxiously wanting a child together. We are in our late 20's, so we know we have a little time.

We have been trying for the last 4 months

My question to you ladies: can addiction in the past effect fertility? I know we have not been trying long, it just worries me a little.
