Allergic to my period?

Okay this might sound really weird, but I think I might be allergic to my period. I've been getting hives off and on lately and I thought it was something I was eating, they appear only on my neck tho. Which I thought was weird? I know I have a gluten allergy but I don't eat it. And it doesn't cause hives normally if i do, just keratosis Polaris. But anyways I looked back at the other cases of this same hive outbreak iv had and realized it always occurs right as my period begins. I looked online and found that your body can actually be allergic to its own progestin. Anyone else have any experience with this!?

I would lean more towards a hormonal imbalance of some sort than an allergic reaction to your period?

Since the stuff that comes out during your period all originated inside your own body, I sincerely doubt that you could be allergic to it. It's either a hormonal reaction (like when girls break out during their period) or related to period products that you use.

That's really interesting. I tend to notice I get a small rash on the side of my stomach right before my period every month, and so does my husband lol. When I worked as a teacher, one of the teachers there would break out in rashes when her period would sync up with other women's periods.  It sounds crazy, but allergic reactions to period sounds reasonable.

Maybe it's the pads or tampons you use. Try a different brand
