Too popular?

I don't want a name that is too common and have always said I don't want a name that is in the Top 100. However, my SO reeeally likes Eli, but it seems like it has had a spike in popularity in the past few years (according to one website I saw), although I haven't seen any birth announcements with that name recently. I don't want him to have three other Elis in his classroom growing up! Is it too popular?

Unfortunately, there's no guarantee that whatever name you pick isnt all the sudden going to get popular the very next year. That's what happened with my first! If you both like the name, go for it!

Popularity according to names on social security cards in U.S. Since 2000, definitely creeping up the list started in 200s in year 2000

Check ss website esp for your state! I love nameberry to find inspiration but their "popular" names are for that community not for the United States as a whole
