How far along do you have to be before you can get an ultrasound done?

You can start to see something around the 6 week mark. Before that it is unlikely (although not impossible) to see the sac. Most doctors won't have you do any ultrasound until you are around 8 weeks to guarantee

​They see the heart beat also which can take up to 7-9 weeks before it

I keep hearing that you have to be 8 weeks or even 12 but my doctors did two today on me and I'm only 6.2 weeks. I guess it depends on the doctor.
