Baby shower for 2nd child?

So I’m pregnant with baby number two, my family threw me a baby shower the first time around and went all out, I asked them about it the other day because I’m nearing 25 weeks and they acted like they didn’t want to throw me one or they weren’t going to, do you usually have one for every child? It kind of hurt my feelings.

You usually only get one for your first. Sometimes a second one will be thrown if the second baby is a different gender, or a baby “sprinkle” will be thrown for diapers and gift cards but no big purchases. My friends threw me a very small shower for my second child last week with just a few friends and family members. I think it’s nice to celebrate all the babies, but it really is a new concept and not a lot of people do it.
