Pell grant?

So I got a pell grant for the semester and I am thinking of taking a break from college next semester. Would I have to repay the pell grant they disbursed to me? College I thought would be for me but It's a waste if I don't even know what I'm going for. But I got this pell grant and they sent me a check for over $2,000 and idk if I need to pay it back and if I do will they send me a letter?

Where I'm from(not necessarily for everyone) the most they pay is 2,500. Half is disbursed in the fall, half in the spring. If I took the fall semester they would disburse half to the college. Whatever is not used for classes is then paid to the student halfway through the fall semester. 
If I chose not to attend the spring semester that half would just never be disbursed to the college. If I started classes and then dropped the college would refund the money back to the government and I would be placed on financial warning. 
If you receive a grant or a loan and flunk your classes, or drop after a certain amount of time, the college refunds the money back to the government and you owe the amount in full to the school. 
Grants never need to be paid back IF you attend the semester(s) they paid for. Loans need to be paid back regardless. 
You should check with your financial aid advisor because they're the only ones who can give you accurate info for your grant, area, school, and situation.
