Diagnosed With GD Yesterday

So this pregnancy I've been tested 4 times for diabetes. This last 3 hour test I failed all 4 blood draws. The doctor called me yesterday and set up an appointment for their diabetes class which is this coming Tuesday.

They didn't say anything about watching my sugar intake or diet. My brother has diabetes and he takes shots, so I know a lot about diabetes.

So I guess my question is do some of you just control your diabetes with diet vs. medication? I just think its weird that they are waiting til Tuesday to see me. Thanks for your help!
