VBAC?

Question

I can’t decide if I want to do a VBAC or another c section. My son was breech so I didn’t have a choice. But hopefully I have a choice with this baby. Did you choose VBAC or c section? Do you wish you would of had VBAC instead of another c section (vice versa)?? I need pros and cons ladies!

I had a VBAC with my second and I am so thankful for it! I got to experience a "normal" birth and the recovery was a friggin breeze!!! Plus my hospital stay was 1 day!!!! I had another c-section with my third because she was breech but I'm praying that baby #4 is head down and things move along well and I can VBAC again! Not gunna lie my labor was very long and pushing was VERY LONG. Probably due to the fact that my body had never been through labor before. With my first I never even dilated past a 2 before the c-section. But I looked down and told my son to come out looked up and asked God to give me a little more strength and out he came. Labored for almost 36 hours pushing for 2. Was 10 minutes shy of having to have an emergency c-section.

my Dr set up another c section.  she called me asking me what my plans were and I said if there's no medical reasons then I want to do a vbac.  she then said they will still have me on the schedule for a c section if there's complications. I'm hoping for a vbac.  my baby is already head down and there's alot of pressure.  hoping my body will progress this time.

I had 2 vaginal births, 1 c section and I HATED the c section recovery. Some bounce back super quickly, but I just didn't, maybe because I have other kids to care for. My dr approved me for a vbac however I have to deliver at a different hospital than my other 3 (that hospital doesn't allow them). Not every dr or hospital will do it, so you have to ask.

I wish I had a choice , but where I live vbacs aren't allowed. so I'll be having my fourth section in March.

I am going for a vbac this time around because of the reduced risk and scar tissue/ adhesions, easier recovery, and many other personal reasons. Lots of doctors wont support vbacs, but according to the ACOG, it is safe and reasonable. Uterine rupture is the reason many give, but the statistics of that happening are minuscule.

I don't think they give you a choice, c sections are only necessary on certain circumstances.
