Should parents ask their children if they would like a sibling before ttc a second or more?

Not asking them how they feel can cause problems for them and feel neglected. 
BONUS: If your child said no, would you still ttc? Or wait until they agree with it?

no because a single child does not understand what it means to have a sibling. They have no concept of the good or the bad. This is one of those decisions that parents need to make them. To them, the idea of a new sibling is just like a new toy in the house. It's something to play with and then discard if you want. They don't understand that it is an expansion of their family

I think asking them how they feel about it and taking their feelings into consideration definitely doesn't hurt. But ultimately, the decision should be made by the parents of course.

Absolutely. Being a child doesn’t make their opinions any less valid. Our daughter is just as much a member of this family as my husband and I are. I’d absolutely include her in those conversations assuming she’s old enough to talk about it (like 2 years and older or so).

I'd never advocate teaching a child that the world revolves around them - that's very poor preparation for adulthood.

No...because we are the parents. Kids don’t get to make decisions for us. They are apart of our life they don’t get to run it.

My son asked me for a baby brother or sister so I asked him would he like one? He said he would. I didn’t give a yes or no answer. I don’t see anything in involving a child if they are asking. I think its up to the parent on what they want to do. I don’t think it’s any harm. I would not however ask the child if they would like a sibling if they didn’t bring it up. I understand they are only a child and it will effect them so why not involve them and prepare or support what ever thoughts they are having.

i waited until my son was ready he's now 9 years old and he agrees for me to  have a baby my sister first son hated her and his other siblings when she just went ahead and have more kids
