Flu shot?

I had an IUI and I'm 5 weeks pregnant, it's still really new and I'm worried about something going wrong because this has been long awaited. Should I get a flu shot now, later or not at all?

Imo, you should be worried about what could go wrong with your pregnancy if you catch the flu - - the flu is very dangerous in pregnancy. It's flu season now, so I would do as much as I could to protect myself & my baby, including getting the flu shot.

Flu shot is the only shot I don’t get during pregnancy. I encourage you to research online from education sources because this is a very polarizing topic and you’ll get a lot of emotion if you just ask people. Personally, I don’t feel comfortable taking a shot that is “new” each year and not tested on pregnant women. I also don’t get the flu shot even when I’m not pregnant. **THAT BEING SAID...if you do get the flu while pregnant it can cause either mother or baby to die - for lack of a better term. Please do not make this decision lightly. Ask your doctor and do your own research :)

Not saying to do it or not to, but I opted to get it and ended up sick as a dog about a week later.. I was pissed😡

Only side effect I had was just being very tired afterwards... had a great nap and was good to go

I understand your concern as I had the exact reservation when I was pregnant. I had never gotten the flu shot and got the flu the last three years. Every time I got the flu I swore I’d get the flu shot lol when I was pregnant last year at this time my doctor kept suggesting it and after weighing the pros and cons it was definitely worth getting. It didn’t hurt and I experienced no side effects. They don’t use preservatives in the one they give pregnant women. I was so glad I got it in the end. I avoided the flu and protected my little one. It was one less thing to worry about. My little one is 5 months today and I just went to Walgreens and got it for this season so she would be protected. Dad and brother will be getting it too.

Speak with your provider about what’s best for YOU. I’ve never had the flu shot and won’t be getting it during pregnancy.

Discuss with your doctor the best course of action. They generally gice it to you later when they give you the TDAP (which you should 100% get) If you are due during flu season. I am not sure about early pregnancy, so at your next appointment, being it up and see what they recommend

There is no such thing as “flu season” ... people get sick with the flu more often in the winter because of vitamin D deficiency. Don’t fall for the flu shot gimmick

I wouldn’t risk it. Research what’s actually in a flu shot... it has NEVER been tested on pregnant women. It’s high in toxins that are extremely harmful.. yes, some people feel fine after getting the vaccine, but the long term effects are worrisome.
