Self harm tattoo cover up?

When I was younger I use to cut really bad and I would always cut so deep so the healing scars look very gross and it’s so embarrassing cause every-time I meet a new person I know they ask about it. I’ve had these scars for about 2-4 years know and almost convinced they won’t heal So I wanted to know if covering them up would be considered acting too soon just Incase they wound up healing

I used vitamin e skin oil to help mine fade, I eventually got this over them and I can only see a few scars in the first 2 moons (closest to my wrist) I've had it for 2 years now and every time I look at it, it just reminds me to breathe

They will fade with time, but they’ll never completely go away. Scars always heal lighter so they will be quite visible still as your skin tone is quite deep. You’ll be able to cover them up quite well with a tattoo tho

Mine took a long time to fade, but they're barely noticeable now. They used to be bad and were dark and puffy, but eventually they faded. Just give it some time, and a tattoo would be really cute! 💕

I would say to maybe wait a little bit for them to heal. but once they aren't as sensitive you can definitely cover them up. my boyfriend covered his cutting scars a few months ago. he got his dog's paw prints on his arms. It was meaningful to him because his dog was always there with him and helped Him get through the things he struggled with.

They will fade but most likely will still always be there. If you choose to get a tattoo to cover just keep in mind it will not fully cover the scars. I have a few scars that just happened to be where i wanted tattoos (not my self harm scars just random scars) that i can still see through the ink. And if they’re raised obviously they’ll still be raised with the tattoo. But i have seen many beautiful pieces over scars so if you want to do that then do your research to find the right artist for you

They'll get better with age and using creams, but might not ever fully go away. I know with some of the deeper ones in particular they'll be harder to cover and might hurt a bit/ heal funny, so if you do get them covered it's best to do something more abstract like flowers or something instead of words or faces or anything.
