Do I have PCOS?
Hello ladies. I know you’ve probably seen the title of this post and thought ‘how does she not know yet?’ But I’m gonna launch into my issue. Before I do, I would like to say a huge welldone to every boss lady dealing with PCOS and the struggles that come with it.
Right. So here’s my story.
Have always had VERY heavy periods (since I was about 12) I mean to the point where I was hospitalised a few times with I was younger but they have ALWAYS been on time. Fast forward to having gotten married. Tried for a baby for a year and a half and had no luck. Then I went for the usual testing and they realised I had a growth on my pituitary glad so I started treatment. They also wanted to test me for PCOS so they did some blood work and sent me for an internal scan. Internal scan said I don’t have it. Blood work said I do.
Had a baby the year after (wasn’t really trying anymore and ended up a single Mum)
Fast forward another 5 years. Just took the implanon rod out cos I remarried and wanted to try for a baby. My endocrinologist did a full ‘MOT’ on me and told me all of my blood work is absolutely normal and that he’ll see me in March to discuss it. So did I ever really have PCOS? I know it’s not something that goes away but. What in the hell? How is my blood work normal compared to what he told me 5 years ago?
Just FYI - I am slightly overweight (70kg and I’m 5ft3 but im not huge) and I find it hard to shift anything at all
I don’t have excessive hair
Period has always been on the dot
Does anyone have a clue about what’s going on? Thank you all in advance ❤️
