Period date

Hi Everyone, today is supposed to be my first day of period according to the app, however I got this morning some brown discharge (it happen to me every month I usually get the brown discharges a few days before the real red red blood) So should it count as my first day period or is the first day I get red blood is my first day of periods knowing that the brown discharge sometimes last a week before the red blood and the pain comes.
