applying for a new job whilst TTC??

sorry if I have posted this in the wrong place, I am very new here. Me and my partner have only been trying for a couple of months so it is early days for us yet. BUT...... I hate my job!!! I want to apply new ones but my partner is concerned that if I changed jobs and we do get pregnant I would not get maternity pay as I will have not been there for a year?! Is this true?? I am feeling trapped in this job and scared to apply for new ones in case I wouldn't get any maternity pay. Do people hire pregnant woman? Or is it against you as you will soon be off work?? any help or advice would be appreciated **edit - I live in the UK
