Vbac mommies

Hello everyone. I have a question for all of you Vbac mommies. I had my first c section may of last year due to prolapsed cord. I am now pregnant with number two, anyways my dr has told me that I am a good candidate to try for a Vbac however if they need to intervene in any way at all or if I’m a week past due they will send me straight to get another c section. Is this normal?
