Can you start meeting with lactation consultant before birth?

I know this is a question for my doctor/hospital. But, I also know every doctor/hospital is different. I’m curious about your experience/options.

I went to a breastfeeding info thing at my hospital run by an LC during 3rd trimester, it was great, glad I went

You absolutely can! I didn’t. I met with one in the hospital the day of delivery and went to a few follow up consults during the following weeks. You can definitely go before delivery though if you want! Many hospitals offer breastfeeding classes prior to delivery as well

I've talked to one a few times already and I just started my 3rd trimester. I have inverted nipples, so I've been asking her about stuff to do before the baby comes to make breastfeeding easier.
