How bad will a tattoo hurt?

Question

For reference I have 12 piercings: 
Nose, belly button, 3 lobe piercings on each ear, 2 helix on one ear, 1 helix on other and 1 tragus. 
My tragus was the only piercing that actually hurt, my nose was literally the least painful. I didn't even feel it! I have a high pain tolerance. I want a tattoo of "loved" with a cross on my left wrist.

Piercings and tattoos are completely different, so don't expect the piercing experiences to help. 😅
It's different for everyone, on every body part.
Best advice is to eat well, sleep well, and drink plenty of water to make it easier (also avoid being close to your time of the month).

You’ll be fine. The pain of a tattoo is a lot different than any piercing though. I have 13 piercings and 5 tattoos, a tattoo feels like a cat scratch over and over. When it heals it feels it’s similar to a sunburn.

Depends on where you get the tattoo and how detailed it is. To me a tattoo feels like a burning pain. I have tattoos on my collar bones, 3/4 sleeve on my arm, foot and my entire back is covered. The worst of them all was my lower back right on my spine and backbone.

With all those piercings I can say you’ll tolerate the pain fine, it basically feels like dragging a needle across your skin. I have a tattoo on my wrist, the only part that was the most painful was the bottom raindrop, so depending on where you put your tattoo will determine how much it hurts.

I just feels like being scratched!! I laughed in the beginning because of the buzzing made my hand tingle!! He had to stop for a second because of how hard I was laughing! The only “bad” thing is towards the end when they go over raw parts they have already been on. I actually almost fell asleep at the end!! ( it looks like that because it’s healing)

Tattoo pain will vary. Not just vary from each person but the pain will vary depending on the placement. All tattoos hurt and it is much different than a piercing because the pain lasts throughout the entire procedure where a piercing is quick and the pain is quick. The best way to describe the average tattoo pain is having a bad sunburn and scratching the painful sunburned skin. Depending on what you get done, something that's just outlines and shading won't hurt as bad as full color because with full color they have to go over the same spot over and over again to ensure its solid.

I think a tattoo pain is different to a piercing pain. I just got my ankle tattoo, it took 2 hours, the pain hurt a little at first, then the adrenaline kicked in and it kind of just went numb. For me the most painful part was after! Though I forgot all about the pain when I look at it :D

depends where you get it. i have two and neither of them were bad. one on my wrist and one on my leg. the wrist one was much worse but the pain is bearable. you get used to it. it’s not bad at all. id rather get my tattoos over again than get a piercing. it’s worth it to because you have a beautiful tattoo. once you get one you’ll crave the feeling of getting them.
