whens the right time? read description please

for a bit of background, i had two cats who were brothers and had always been together. im currently 31 weeks pregnant and one of my boys sadly passed away a couple of weeks ago. while I'm missing him lots my other cat is really struggling and lonely during the day while hubby and i are at work. i would like to get him two friends to keep him company and to save this scenario happening again where one cat is left alone and sad. i take maternity leave from Xmas and im due 24/01. do i risk getting new cats/kittens around Xmas and hoping they've settled by the time i give birth, which could be any time, or wait until baby is older but my cat is still lonely and doesn't remember sharing a house without another cat anymore?
