When should I start reading to my baby?

I have started to develop a little library for my daughter. I buy cheap children’s books here and there, usually from my local dollar stores.Good books for just a $1 each. Children’s books are pricey if you’re getting them from anywhere else.
My goal is to have enough books for her that I can read to her from 3-6 months of age till 1 yrs old. I will continue to buy more afterwards, This is just to start off. 
I also will checkout some from the children-educational DVD’s and books from library.
When will be an appropriate age to start reading to her where she can benefit from it?

I've read to my daughter since she was born .. it's a nice bonding cuddle moment we share and she gets to learn at the same time, she's now going to be 6 months and loves looking at books.

You can read from the very beginning. Hearing your voice and the rhythmic pattern of reading can be soothing. Even now before the baby is born, if you want.  My baby is 1 and books are her favorite thing to play with and "read". I recommend board books with very few words on the pages for young babies, those are the kind my daughter loves me to read to her. Her favorites are actually the ones with only one word on each page, with a picture of what the word is. She gets bored of a longer book, but could sit for an hour and listen to the baby board books.

My husband and I started to read to our baby when we found out we were pregnant. Till this day our son LOVES BOOKS we have a small collection of books and we also use our local library. The library has amazing things for toddlers, my son is enrolled in 1,000 books before kindergarten and we love watching him get happy every time we go to the library

Try the Dolly Parton library, I don’t know if they deliver to every state but look into it. They send you a book every month from birth until your child turns 5 FOR FREE.

We read to our first two so much. They loved it. We would go to the library and check out 50 kids books at a time and be through them in a week or two. 
Enjoy your reading time. I feel like we don't get it done as much for our three year old since we have a 9 1/2 and 8yr old to. 
Also your local goodwill, Salvation Army or yard sales will have great books as well.

Thank you ladies for your comments! The only things I don’t like about my local Goodwill and Salvation Army is... The books are always excessively covered in dust bunnies 🤢🤧🤒 and I have really bad allergies, I’ll be sick for days. I prefer to spend a couple more cents on a brand-new book at the dollar store.
