Shock training

Please don't jump down my throats people. Just looking for opinions of people who have tried this. Since the birth of our daughter our dog has been out of hand. I've posted on here about it before. He's very jealous and acting out. He runs away any chance he gets. He messes in the house. Eats the trash. Gets stuff off counters. He also has a hard time with my husband and the baby. He doesn't try to wake her up anymore so I guess we're making progress but anytime my husband is holding her the dog will jump on them or hit him with his paw. We are at our last straw before we can't handle it anymore. But we've had him so long and we love him but he's destroying our house and furniture. Someone suggested shock training to us which is basically he gets trained with a shock collar. I've heard it's highly effective especially for hyper dogs. It's used mainly for training hunting dogs. Anyone tried it? Or have any other ideas? We have hired a trainer. We give him alone time and time with the baby as a family.
