when to take LO to dr for diaper rash???
UPDATE: the rash has miraculously recovered overnight. as i suspected and just like last time, now tgat her teeth are about halfway through the rash is suddenly subsiding. it's not even half as bad as it was 🤗 thank you all for your suggestions and advice. I will certainly be calling if it happens to flare back up! I nearly went to the er today bc my 10 month old daughter was in so much pain. she shakes and holds her legs together, tries to push me away. 😭😭😭 and nothing I'm doing has even made a dent in this rash. she can't even eat her favorite foods bc they either make the rash worse or the pooping worse (so no strawberries, eggs, or cheese. she refuses yogurt, anything to be spoon fed, and lately pasta too 😑 the only things she's been accepting is cheerios, bananas, or avocados)
She is cutting her 7th and 8th teeth. Her last two teeth gave her an awful rash and diarrhea too but this seems ten times more painful.
I've been giving Motrin (Tylenol is better for the teething pain but Motrin seems to help her bum more and upset her tummy less) gently patting clean with either warm water with just a sprinkle of baking soda or water wipes. Then patting completely dry before slathering about an entire container of Vaseline all over. Trying to keep her diapers slightly loose. Baking soda baths. She doesn't like going naked, she acts like it's just weird 😏 desitin and bordeaux's seem to sting so I haven't even bothered trying anything else. I was allergic to zinc oxide as a baby so I think she might be sensitive to it as well.
I just don't know what else to do and I feel like a rotten mum for not being able to help her more 😭 she cries more when I cry so I try to put on a strong face for her. I'm having serious anxiety about going to work tomorrow (for a whopping 3 hours 😒) bc her dad doesn't seem to understand how painful it is. He doesn't talk to her or say things like "I'm sorry, I know it hurts. It'll be okay, we're almost done"
She had the runs on Thursday, the rash spiked up on Friday when I noticed her teeth finally actually poking through. It's now Sunday night and it's as bad as ever. I can't stand seeing her in so much pain.
She pooped 3 times in 30 minutes today and it's so painful she insists on being changed as soon as she gets a little out. It's gone from diarrhea to more slimy mucusy blobs.
I will probably end up calling for an appt tomorrow but want to hear what you all think. Any different advice/experiences? Do your LOs get a rash when teething too?
slimy, mucusy, lighter in color than normal
that's just one side and blurred out her leg crease too, just bc. there are a few tiny spots that look like they've opened up a little but for the most part that's just Vaseline residue you see in that picture.
