Crib or pack n' play?

Question ladies.. 
So I'm going to be a single mother come April.. right now I live in a 1 bedroom apartment (I'm due in April, lease isn't up till June) so therefore baby will be sharing a room with me. My bedroom is big enough for a crib but it would take up a lot of room. 
So my question is how necessary is a baby crib at first? Or will a pack n' play or bassist work? 
I'm trying to buy the big things now or put them on my registry and I'm just curious of which would work better? Or which you ladies would recommend?

We have a crib that we’ll be attaching to our bed like a diy co-sleeper. And got a used pack-n-play for when we go over to other peoples houses. I honestly think babies don’t need THAT much. So most of her things will be in our room. Hope this helps!

I registered for a Graco pack and play that is sort of like an all in one. It has a bassinet, changing table, and crib all in one compact space. Might be a good option for you.

In the same boat! Hubby and I renewed our lease thinking it was going to take a bit longer to get preggo due to the bc method I was on...boy were we wrong... so we're now in a 1 br apartment until baby girl is 5 months. We were planning to do the pack n play since its compact and mobile. But my mom found a good deal on a mini crib which takes up way less space so we're considering that option and then also getting a pac n play for travel/grandparents. They have some mini cribs on Amazon if you want to look it up!

We are loaning a cosleeper from a friend for the first few months just to have the baby in our room. We will also have a nursery already but that will be basically storage and a changing table for the first few months.
