walfare question

Im currently on unemployment due to being laid off for pregnancy complications and i get around $720 a month, i should recieve that til next Sep however i want to go back to work asap. i am a first time mom n will have a very hard time trusting anyone to watch my daughter so i was wondering about getting in walfare until i felt safe enough to allow someone to watch her. she will be 5months 9-18 when my unemployment stops. what does walfare offer n can i live on it? thanks for ur time
