Ovulation cramps HELP

Has anyone experienced this? I’ve been TTCing for 5 months now coming off the pill and this month everything seems to be FINALLY getting normal (more predictable) Saturday night opk was dark but Sunday morning and night were a smidge darker. Sunday night I had cramps on one side. I read they are ovulation cramps. I’ve seen girls here talk about them but I’ve never had them. Does this mean when you have the cramps you ovulated? Or is your body gearing up to ovulate?
