I started having contractions at 8am 11/27, Craig and I went in for our scheduled routine weekly check at 10am where the doctor told me I was only dilated to 1cm and 30% effaced, she then sent us to the hospital for a non stress test to make sure the baby was healthy, after 2 1/2 hours and an ultrasound, they were concerned with no baby movement on the ultrasound so they told me we would be delivering today. My contractions progressed and about 1:30 I was checked and dilated to a 5 and 70% effaced and I was told I was in active labor so they moved us into our delivery room where my water broke at 3:00pm and I continued to dilate 1cm per hour after that but she was still really high. The doctors were concerned that Leia's heart rate kept going so low during contractions at one point as low as 89, they had me sit on my knees and straddle the bed to try to get her to move down more but no luck, after I turned back over her heart rate dropped severely for 3 to 4 minutes which is when they decided to do an emergency C-section which sent me into a frantic, anxiety attack of a hot mess. I was so worried for the health of our child that I could not breathe or stop crying, Craig thank God was right by my side the whole time reassuring me everything was gong to be okay trying to force himself to believe the same and stay strong for me. When they delivered her they found that her umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck twice causing her heart rate to drop. Our beautiful baby girl Leia Rey was born 11/27/17 at 7:17pm weighing 6lbs 14ozs and 20 inches long and very healthy, beautiful and beyond anything I could have ever imagined. 😍💞👪
