First time Mom, couldn’t have asked for a better labor!
I was induced on Monday at 38+2 due to gestational diabetes, an aging placenta and fluid levels dropping quickly. When I went in I was 3cm and 80% effaced. They started pitocin at 9 am and wasn’t feeling much, then the doctor came in and broke my water at 9:30 and they upped the pitocin. The contractions came fast and furious at that point and I was unsure if I was going to get an epidural before I went in but I only labored and hour before asking for it. 😂 so I got the epidural around 11. The time was pretty hazy because the pain was so intense.
My epidural was very dense and I had zero feeling from the epidural site down. They checked me at 12:30 and I was already 10 cm. I went from 3 to 10 in three hours. The nurse said you’re ready and I was like “ready for what?” I didn’t believe her! I had just told my husband I was going to try to take a nap. However, since I had zero feeling, like I didn’t even know they moved my legs, I couldn’t push. I was pretty much paralyzed from the waist down. So they turned off the epidural and I laid there for an hour before pushing. I pushed for 30 min and he came out. I only had a 1st degree small tear.

He is perfect. Leo William born 2:33 pm 7lbs 4 oz.
