16 year old girl with a 14 year old boy?

is it wrong for a 16 year old girl to date a 14 year old boy?
I know boys are usually older than the girls in a relationship. some may say its wrong because a 16 year old is more mature than a 14 year old

Maturity wise that’s a huge difference. Even between a 16 year old boy and a 14 year old girl. As teenagers even a year can make a big difference. As a parent I wouldn’t be comfortable with my 16 year old dating someone more than a year younger (boy or girl). There’s just huge grow that occurs at that age and you’re really at completely different stages of life. At 16 university starts becoming important as does their future career, etc as high school gets closer to the end, whereas most 14 year olds are still in junior high and are still more focused on being kids than the future. There’s just a really big difference. 
More than that, at 16 you’ve reached the age of consent so any kind of sexual contact with someone under 16 is statutory rape. I’ve yet to meet a teenager (and I include myself in this from when I was one) that truly understood the consequences of all their actions. Which is totally normal as the brain doesn’t reach full maturity until in your early 20s. I’d be very worried as a parent that things would happen that could ruin my child’s or the other child involved life.

It’s a lot in the early teens tbh. 
It’s less of an issue between someone who’s 16/17 or 18/19, but there’s a shit ton of development going on. 
I’d have to say that the girl being the elder in this situation makes me even more concerned (I’m not very concerned)because aren’t women typically (behavior wise) more mature than same aged guys? Why then a guy two years younger? Nah. It’s just way too much development wise. 
It’s a number that doesn’t matter once you hit 19+. A 20 and 22 year old is nothing because they’re for the most part on the same level.

Yes it’s wrong as the age for consent is 16. So if she is having sex with him it’s not right to take advantage of someone who is so young. Once he’s 16 then fair game.
