Had my beautiful boy 11-15-17 ... 3 weeks early

Michaela

I gave birth to my son! It was the most intense experience of my life ... I went in to Labor and delivery for the third time in 10 days for high blood pressure and they decided to induce me. That was on Monday, 11-13-17... started the induction medication around noon, and I was in labor for 39 hours! 😩😳😫... Finally at midnight on Tuesday night (Wednesday morning) I was ready to start pushing. Well, I pushed for 6 1/2 HOURS!!! My son was “sunny side up”.. meaning that he was coming out face first. Doctors told me that 90% of first time moms have to have a C-section with the baby in that position... and trust me, I was screaming so hard and begging for a c-section. I got an epidural right at the beginning, and they had to replace it twice, and then adjust the tubing in my spine a 3rd time! It wasn’t working properly, the anesthesiologist were amazed that I was still able to move my legs after the amount of medication they were giving me! So when I started pushing, they said I was basically pushing him out without any medication. I was partially numbed up for my labor, but not for the pushing.

Julian Daniel was born at 6:10am on November 15th, 2017! He had the most intense conehead! 🤣 ... when he came out, apparently his breathing reflex wasn’t working properly. How The doctors explained it to us is that when we exhale, we never let out ALL of the air in our lungs, There is a reflex in our lungs that doesn’t allow us to completely empty out her lungs. Well, he had quite figured that out yet. (He was born three weeks early due to me developing preclampsia).. so they had to take him to the NICU right away 😥. He was on the CPAP machine for only about 24 hours and he was able to finally figure it out his breathing reflect started working... then he was diagnosed with jaundice! So he had to stay in the NICU under LED lights! I got discharged after two days, and I kept bothering them downstairs in the NICU, they have two rooms in the back that have hospital beds for parents of babies that will be going home soon to stay, my husband and I were able to stay with him which was great. After four more days of being under the jaundice lamp, his billyrubin (The red blood cell count that they used to determine jaundice numbers) still kept going up. One of the nurses was like, “ I have been here for 30 years and I have never seen this...” she had someone come and check the lamps… And the fucking lamp was broken! They got a new lamp in there, and he was under it for 24 hours and his Billy Rubin levels dropped so much that we were able to go home the next day! I don’t believe that we were there for so many extra days just because of a faulty lamp! 👿👿👿

It was extremely annoying being in the NICU, Specially the last couple of days… I was getting so fed up with every time he cried, or every time I fed him or changed his diaper I had to let the nurse know or they pop their head in and said, “is he OK?!” ... but we were able to come home on Wednesday, Nov. 22nd, 7 days after he was born, Day before Thanksgiving and two days before my husband’s birthday. 😁

We took him to his follow up appointment on the 24th, and they tested his Billy Rubin again. When we got to the pediatricians office, The doctor said, “wow he still looks yellow!” So my anxiety flew up! If his Billy Rubin was raised again we were going to have to be admitted back to the hospital again. BUT, checked his score and it had dropped even more! He has since gotten rid of his yellow jaundice glow lol... we are home doing amazing.

My husband has been so supportive! He got two weeks off of work right when the baby was born, annoyingly we were in the hospital for most of that time except for two days. His job is being very supportive and he is able to come home early now, so he is home about 2 PM.

My son was born at 5 lbs. 4 oz., we left the hospital he was 4 lbs. 14 oz... It’s a huge issue because the stroller/car seat we got was a 5 pound and up car seat, and he did not fit properly in it. So they weren’t going to let us leave in it, so we have to go to babies R us and purchase a 4 pound and up car seat. So now I have two car seats, and a stroller. Took him to the pediatrician again 2 days ago, on Friday, and now he weighs 5 lbs. 13 oz.!!! He gained almost a pound in nine days! He eats so much!!!

He has definitely been going through a growth spurt the past 3 to 4 days, he has been usually 4 ounces every 2-3 hours! 😱! Honestly, I am having a lot of trouble keeping up with the breast milk!

Well, my labor and delivery was extremely traumatizing… I didn’t even go into the nitty-gritty details… But I can definitely see how women forget about the pains of labor after they fall so intensely in love with their baby!

Julian is AMAZING! I am so in love, I’m so proud of my son and I’m so proud of myself for going through that. I was screaming and screaming and screaming that I could not do it… I had the most amazing doctor nurse team.

Well, here’s my cutie!! :
