Does anyone NOT use a monitor?

My baby’s room is right across the hall, like SO close, he’s almost 11 months (just started sleeping in his own room) I know he’s safe in his crib, nothing in it. but sometimes I worry if something happens like idk if he throws up or ANYTHING lol .. I CAN hear every little noise in our house I hear him moving around in his crib we’re that close, our house carries noise like crazy we can hear his smallest fuss from the living room! and a monitor just gives me anxiety I hear every little thing and can’t sleep lol. Is it OK to not use one?
