Do you have to pump regularly if you breastfeed?

I'll be a SAHM so I can breast feed around the clock. I was planning on only using the pump if I ever drop her off at her grandparents for a night out with my SO. Is that practical? I'm a first time mom sorry if this is a stupid question haha.

I never pumped unless like you said we were to leave him with grandma for a little bit, but yeah I just always fed on demand and never had to pump unless my son didn’t eat and I would get engorged then I would pump for relief hahah.

Your insurance company should cover a breast pump. Totally get one if it’s free. You can always create a back up or use it for babysitters.

Get a pump. Do eeet. When your engorged and your baby isn't hungry or wont eat you'll thank your lucky stars you have one. Plus freezer stock pile so if your supply goes down at 11 months you can still have a supply to feed your babes.

I never pumped. Bought a hand pump so husband could feed her if he wanted, but only used it a handful of times.

I only used it occasionally. It worked well enough for what I wanted. The early days it helped so much with engorgement, then when he would stay with Grandma.
