Did the #metoo movement inspire real changes in our society?

Time magazine named the #metoo silence breakers Person of the Year. Do you think this movement has led to positive changes in our society? Do you think the momentum will be maintained?

it sparked conversation which is more  than our society has done about it, ever.

I think it definitely did. When the women’s march was going on I kept hearing how it wasn’t necessary because “we all have equal rights”. This goes to show that there’s more to equality than just de juro rights. It’s easy to ignore people speaking up when it’s a stranger on the internet but it’s harder when it’s someone you know. #MeToo shed light on just how common the problem of harassment and assault actually is.

What I don’t like is where is the founder of the #metoo movement? Why is she not on that cover? If it wasn’t for her there would be no #metoo platform, for the silence breakers. She has been fighting this atrocity since 2010, and she gets no recognition that’s wrong and disingenuous.
Give credit where it is due.

It honestly has! Younger generations are heavily influenced by some of these men and women who are sharing their stories and rising against sexual harassment and abuse, and as a victim myself, if this movement occurred when I was younger, I would have reported it. I applaud time magazine for doing this 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Yes I think it has lead to positive changes... 
HOWEVER.. I would just like to point out how every last one of these comments are mentioning the empowered women (which is great don’t get me wrong) but I would have liked to see some men that have come forward as well.
I find it odd how Terry Crews story is still kinda put on the back burner.
It’d be nice to see him on the cover as well. I think that would have made a stronger statement

Totally. I see a lot of responses to the poll were "no". Change takes time, but it has to start with discussion. With all of these victims speaking up, others feel safe to do the same, and the conversation continues. The greater the volume, the less it can be denied.

Nothing changes overnight but it has certainly started the ball rolling and brought it to the forefront. Only time will tell what impact it will have overall but so far the positives far outweighs the negatives.

I have my criticism of the movement but overall I think it's creating change. 
Men are starting to be aware of their actions. Men are starting to stop and think about how to approach women. While they are complaining about it, they are starting to realizes their actions come with consequences.
