What do you think of the name Freyja?

Freyja is/was the Norse goddess of love and beauty. more commonly spelled Freya in the US. (Same pronunciation)

I love that name, was considering it myself but went with anothe Norse name. If it’s culturally important  to you, i would keep the spelling. It isn’t THAT exotic. As a teacher I’ve had to pronounce so much worse 😂 most people can figure they one out easily enough

In Australia it’s commonly spelt Freyja, I think it’s prettier that way to.

I love it, but I'd leave out the J! I would just hate for her to have to go around correcting people when they misspell her name for her entire life. Save her the headache. Freya is gorgeous and not too common!!

I adore that name it’s so beautiful. I do prefer the original spelling though, the J just seems odd.
Unfortunately over here the word that means “making love” looks too much like the pronunciation of Freya. You pronounce that Freyan (vrijen). 🙈 So it’s a no go for us 😂

I’d probably go for Freya or Freja because Freyja could later sound like “frey-yuh”, too long.

I can’t believe I am seeing this ... my daughter’s name is Freja ❤️. We live in the US so it’s VERY unusual here and everyone thinks it is a made up name 😂 I am not Scandinavian but I just always loved the light, pretty feeling it had. We went back and forth between the Freya and Freja spelling but in the end we didn’t want to anglicize it. It’s beautiful any way you spell it, in my opinion!

I think I would leave out the J because people would probably add it to the name instead of keep it silent. I think it is adorabke though!
