Got my IUD yesterday

So I’ve been on almost every birth control and I’m always too lazy to refill my prescriptions so I finally went for the IUD. I got the ParaGard because I wanted to see what a life without extreme hormones would be like.

SO im in the military and anyone that’s in the military know that all military doctors are super sketchy. But anyway I went in they cleaned it (didn’t feel it) the pinched it with the thingy(didn’t feel that either) measured my uterus (that cramped a little bit) then when they finally put the IUD in BOY that hurt 😢 but not as bad as I thought. But anyway apparently my cervix didn’t like being messed with so that was a bloody show I didn’t even realize how much it was bleeding until I threw my little paper blanket in the trash and saw all the tools and stuff with blood on it in the trash.

But over all getting it done wasn’t horrible. It’s not until afterwards the cramps were terrible. I couldn’t even stand straight. I was made SIQ(sick in quarters) for the rest of the day but the cramps eased about 5 hours later.

My advice for someone thinking of getting it is to take some Advil or something prior to getting it done that way by time your procedure is finished it would have already worked through your system.
