LH surge AF the next day?

I've been using the clear blue digital to track my ovulation. The last 5 days I had 'high' results, never 'peak' then AF came today. I had blood work hat confirmed I do ovulate last month, and we just got the DHs sperm results back last week showing he has a very low count and low motility. I can't find any concrete information that says if you can have an LH surge just before AF. Does anyone know if this is the case?
