Where do you even start looking for center daycares/in home daycares? I’m SO overwhelmed. 😫😫

Baby is due in May and we will need childcare starting in mid-August. We are starting to look at our daycare options, but I’m SO overwhelmed. We are open to pretty much anything as long as the people are good and caring, the facility or home meets our standards, and the price is below $250 a week. In Columbus, OH.

When I was looking for daycare- I asked around if anyone had any recommendations for good daycares. I got a list of places to check out just by word of mouth. Also- I live in Washington where there is an organization that will help you find quality daycare. See if there is anything like that in your area.

I'm due in March and will need daycare in August too. I called just about every place near me to get a price. Then crossed off all the ones out of our budget. That left us with four choices. Then I called the four places back and asked if they would have an opening in August and if so, I scheduled a tour. Doing it this way made it a little less stressful because I didn't waste time on places I knew we couldn't afford or didn't have openings anyway.
But I definitely say start now because some places have wait lists already.

I used google maps to search daycares by location that would be convenient for my husband and I. We both work within a couple of miles from home so we wanted something close by. Then I searched for reviews and called them to find out about openings (many daycares in my area have waitlists that are over a year long!!). I scheduled tours with 2 of them. We absolutely fell in love with the first one. We still toured the second one which was cheaper and provided all supplies but made us feel even better about the first one. I went back to the first one and put down a deposit to hold a spot. I'm so so glad that's off the to-do list!!

I'm in Cincy. We started looking in September for care starting in mid-March. We looked at 4 centers and a home care - 2 centers would not be able to take us and the he care could only take us until May. We will be paying $310 a week, which includes formula (if using) and diapers/wipes. I know a lot of places take vouchers if you cannot afford care, but I'm not sure what all is required to qualify!

I would start now and make sure they have availability and once you find one you like definitely get registered. Alot of places out here have limited space for infants.

Start now, just call a few and ask for a tour.  They usually have an open door policy so you can just go in as long as it’s not nap time.
