Anybody else’s baby?

My little man still doesn’t have great head control (he’ll be 3 months on the 18th) anybody else’s baby like this? Also he will not do tummy time ! He won’t lift his head up while on the ground he does it maybe once and that’s out of anger! He does lift his head when he’s being held though so idk what to think! (I have a 4 year old and 18 month old and they never did this !

He can hold his head up right though if I place a blanket in his sit up toy!

Following! In the exact same situation and I’m starting to wonder. My son is 3 months old as well. He too doesn’t really like tummy time on his play gym. He gets frustrated after a few minutes. However, he has very good head support when he’s held.

Our pediatrician at 2 month appt said to do tummy time 3 times a day and that has helped a ton. I think of it as they’re strengthening muscles and it gets easier every time, like if you started doing push-ups, they’d get easier every day. Now it’s just part of our routine and we do it before every play mat session and he’s gotten stronger and stronger. Keep trying! Oh and he likes doing it on the couch too, not just the floor.

I was taught that in order to promote good head support that we should hold baby lower around waist while in a sitting position creating a corset with our hands to support back while they focus on head support. Within a week of doing this my son gained almost full head support.

My daughter will be 3 months next week, and she does this!!! We encourage her sitting up bc it builds her neck muscles and actually stimulates more brain activity according to our pediatrician. My doctor said, babies will do what they want and when they want. So if she sits up early, let her and encourage them, she does like tummy time though. I bought a water mat with glitter and little gel fish toys in it, and she seems to like that better than just staring at carpet or the bed. Also—just wait another month or so before a walker. Allowing and encouraging babies to crawl stimulates and helps neurological connections for reading and higher IQ, plus less likely that your baby will develop a learning disability like dyslexia.

Our son is the same. He holds his head up in his sit-me-up chair (we have the same exact one as you, by the way!), but when doing tummy time he just leaves his head in one position and looks around. Sometimes, when he’s in an extremely good mood, I’ll call his name and touch him from the opposite side that he is looking and he’ll turn his head over to look at me, but this is extremely rare! Usually he just gets mad and starts fussing without even trying to move his head. He holds his head up and looks all around while we hold/walk with him, but he hates tummy time. I wouldn’t worry too much about it, though.
