So my boyfriend doesn't get pto or anything when the baby is born bevause he just started hos job. he is allowed to take some days off though. how long should he take off to help me out?

it depends on if you have c-section or vaginal birth.  if csection a week.  if vaginal 2-3 days is reasonable.

My husband gets 10 days paid paternal leave and he’s considering taking an extra paid week of leave.

I'm extremely lucky. My husbands employer allows 2 weeks for a vaginal birth and 4 weeks for a c-section. But he can take additional time from his PTO time. He gets 7 weeks of vacation a year. So if I have him vaginally, he's taking 4 weeks off and 6 weeks if I have a c-section.

I would say space it out. If he only gets a week have him do 2 days each week and 1 day the third week. If that makes sense. He will have to take the day you give birth off and the day you come home at the least. Hopefully you don’t have a c-section because the recovery is much longer and you can’t drive for 6 weeks.

My hubs is a fireman and gets 5pto days a year. He works 24hrs and is off for 72. We decided he’ll take 1 day off after baby is born, and he’ll be over for about a week. My mom agreed to stay w me on the days/nights be works since it’s usually 1-2 days a week.
