Anyone else move closer to family when they became pregnant for the Free child care? Lol

Obviously the love and support is most important,  but the free childcare also is beyond a blessing opportunity that my husband and I are currently discussing

I have a sister in law that thinks that her parents are basically there just to take care of her kids and provide free support.
If grandparents offer it, fine. But I would never in a million years think my family needs to provide something like free childcare for my kiddo.  I waited until I could afford the cost of childcare before deciding to conceive.  To me, that’s the best choice is to have our plan for our family(me husband and kiddo) and if people offer assistance I will take it:)

I'm blessed that my husband provides well and encourages me getting to be a SAHM, but even if this weren't the case, my mother is insane, the family members I love who are NORMAL (lol) all work... my husband's family- all professionals (Dr., lawyers, teachers, etc.) So IF I had to work outside of the home, I would have to get a friend or stranger lol.

My parents already live close to us. We’re actually discussing moving us all into a big house because my parents are getting older. Added bonus is the closer family bonds, free childcare, paying less on bills and peace of mind knowing my parents are close if anything were to ever happen to them ❤️

My mother offered to take my son after 6pm everyday on the weekdays and whenever during weekends.. Which will be a big help. I’ll be a sahm for a month but I’m still young and I want to work as well. I’m so lucky to have her 😩

Yes. We moved closer to my in-laws so they could watch our kids. Then I realized hat was a massive mistake. 
They don’t listen to our wishes. Give my 2yo and 1yo coffee, soda and only junk food. They don’t eat food food. When they were under 1yo and I was still giving them strictly breast milk she would refuse to use the BM I would provide and instead give them cows milk which is a massive no no. They would say “well I had it when I was young...”. Yeah! 73 years ago when cows weren’t pumped full of hormones and antibiotics! Plus I’m producing the best thing possible for them. 
I have now learned to not trust my in-laws and have very limited contact with them. Heck I even gave up my nursing job to be a SAHM bc I can’t trust them.

I live by all my family. Like no more than 5 minutes away from all my siblings, mom and dad and still don’t get help. I wish they would tho. I have 3 sisters and not one of them will keep my 4 month old son. Smh

We live close enough to both of our parents that we don’t need to move. Our schedules are unusual (healthcare*), which would make daycare particularly challenging. Both of our mothers help out with childcare, which comes out to about one day a week each.
* I work 4 10 hour days and my husband works a 24 hour shift and a 12 hour shift, which change weekly. We also work in opposite directions from home. I have an hour commute north and my husband has a 45 minute commute south. , Finding a daycare that can accommodate the drop off / pickups that we would need would be almost impossible. Also, because my husbands shift can include overnights and weekends, most of the days one of us is home, so on top of everything else, we’d be paying for a lot of daycare time that we don’t need.

My BIL is a single dad of an almost 3 year old and moved into our apartment complex a few months ago. If he was looking for free childcare that hasn’t worked out so well for him. We’ve only watched our niece 2 or 3 times, lol. I’m also almost 26 weeks pregnant and don’t have the energy for her anymore.
