Hair help!

So I have dark brown hair, and for the longest time I've been getting blonde high lights and I'm just kinda over it. It's been awhile that I've had my hair done so my roots are coming back in. I'm getting my hair done next week but I'm unsure. I wanna take the plunge for more blonde but I'm nervous. I want a nice change but still want it to look nice!! Help!
