Am I a crazy dog mom?

So I work 12 hour shifts and I hired my sister to nanny my dog on the days I work so he doesn’t have to be in the kennel all day. Am I a crazy dog mom?

I try not to leave my dog alone for more than 9 hours (that's a really long time to wait to pee!) so if I was gone 12 hours a day I would definitely pay someone to stop by and let them out at least. I think this makes you a great dog mom!

I’d probably do something similar. I hate leaving my dog alone, it breaks my heart seeing his sad face looking out the window when I leave.

my dog stays home for 12+ hours when I work OT. she doesn't stay in a kennel, though she used to as a puppy. she never has accidents. I just have a really really good dog. she's a 12 year old 16lb Westie, I really don't know how she holds her bladder for so long!

dogs shouldnt be in a kennel alone that long. its not unreasonable, especially if your sister could really use having that job/money. if she wants to do it and you want to pay her, theres no problem

No that’s a very responsible decision. Can you imagine holding your bladder for 12 hrs? I️’ll take my dog to my parents even if I’m just going to be gone for 8-9hrs.
