Was I in the wrong? He almost got us hurt 😔

So my boyfriend picks me up for lunch, everything is going great. He is driving, and he passes a guy going 20 under the speed limit. Not a big deal. Then the guy starts following us and yelling, so we pull into a parking lot, and the guy is still following us around. I tell my boyfriend “alright, let’s just leave the lot and go somewhere else, it’s not a big deal” but he REFUSES to leave the lot and continues driving around, honking back at the guy who was trailing us. I’m starting to get really anxious, begging my boyfriend to just leave, that if he kept following us we could drive to the police station.

The other driver ends up getting out of his car and coming towards us- at this point I’m freaking out- and my bf just slowly backs away and keep circling the lot. He called the cops- while driving- but still refused to leave. After the guy finally left, after 10 minutes- I was upset. I was scared and frustrated and just wanted to go home. Well my BF starts yelling that I have a “fucking sad life” because I let things like that bother me. He yelled at me the whole way home, dropped me off, and left. We haven’t spoken since.

Was I wrong to get frustrated with him? Did he do the right thing by staying in the parking lot?
