Opinions on this guy?!

A little back story.. we’ve known each other for 7 years. We started talking back in high school but it never went anywhere. Then when I went to college I started dating a different person, well it ended up that they were friends. Okay, no big deal because he had a girlfriend too. But we were always around each other because he was friends with my boyfriend at the time. A few years pass, I was with someone different and had a son. Now I’ve been single for 8 months and the ORIGINAL guy (high school) messaged me and gave me his phone number. We hung out once and had a really good time and we’ve been talking ever since. We’ve been talking for about a month and a half now. He still texts/snapchats me every day. It does seem as if texts are getting shorter and not as frequent but honestly, what is there to text about 24/7? So I get that. He does Snapchat me pretty much all day. But my thing is, we’ve hung out once since we started talking and we’ve tried a few other times but between the both of us it never worked out. I was worrying that he wasn’t interested, but what guy would just KEEP talking? It can’t be for sex because we aren’t seeing each other obviously. I don’t see why he would keep putting effort if he didn’t want to talk. I’ve also asked him like twice if everything was ok and if he still felt the same and he always says yes. So am I just over thinking?
