How close should daycare be from work?

How far is your daycare from work?  I’m enrolling my 3 year old for the first time and am wondering how close it should be from my job. And what is too far.

Ugh I drive 30 minutes out of my way for mine. But I don’t trust anybody closer to my house to I make the drive

It’s a 5-minute drive for me, about a half-hour for my SO. Makes it easier when I have to pick him up when he’s sick, or if there’s an emergency. I live in the suburbs so there’s always a place nearby, I don’t think I’d do more than 20 minutes from one of us. Of course if further is the only option then you do what you gotta do.

I don’t have children but I would say as close as possible.... if there’s an emergency you want to be there fast. A close friend had a child in daycare and something happened so the thought of being farther away than like 30 minutes would terrify me.

Mine is closer to home than my work. I have older kids as well & since my shift begins before school they get bused to school by the day care center. My job is only 10-15 minutes away from home so it works in case of emergency situations.

My daycare lady is 2 mins from my sons school and 10 mins from my house and 15 mins from my school.
She keeps my 4 year old so I make sure she’s close just in case

My daughter's is across the street from my school (currently a college student) and it is 10minute walk from our house. We picked close but also because it is the only place open till 7.
