Bfn at 13dpo with a FRE

So this morning i took an FRE and it was negative. I️ believe I’m 13 dpo. Af should be here tomorrow but there are no signs. We have been trying for way over a year and nothing. Do you think it could still be to early for the test not to pick up? I know people say they have gotten neg then after af they got their BFP. But shouldn’t a early detection test be able to pick up by now?
