Wouldn’t let me hear the heart beat?

I had an sonogram today at 7 weeks, heart beat was 154 and I asked if we could hear it she told me no? The tech said it could harm the baby to hear the heart beat before 20 weeks ( I think that’s a little long) ? Was anybody else told this?

Never once heard that. What's the difference if you hear it or you see it? I heard my daughters at 8w and I heard this baby's at 10w.

That's a line of crap. They leave the sound off but if they can see it means all they have to do is turn on the sound. Now mine only listens in with ultrasound for as long as it takes to get a reading.

I was told the same thing a few weeks back at 7w 1d. We could see it flickering and I asked if we could hear it, and they said that they would have to use a stronger frequency to do so, and that while nothing had been proven about that being harmful, they liked to stay on the safe side that early.

I’ve never heard that...I’m 8 weeks and just had an US on Wednesday. We got to hear it twice.

mine told me we couldn't hear it until 10 weeks. we saw it and it was 175 bpm but they said they didn't listen until 10 weeks

I'm 7 weeks and had my first ultrasound on Wednesday and we heard the heartbeat it was 147.

Even the FDA recommendations very minimal Doppler and Ultrasound use, especially in the first trimester, due to the dangers of them.
